Saying hello from the Netherlands

Hi guys (and girls ofcourse).

My name is Anthony, and i'm coming from the Netherlands.
I'm 28 years old and since a week now I'm driving an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser 350ci from the year 1971.

I begun my hobby (american cars) about 3 years ago.
My first car was a '88 Chevy S10 Blazer 4.3l.
The second car I had was a '76 Dodge W200 318ci ambulance (model M886).
My backup-car is a '72 Plymouth Vaillant 225ci slant six.

This is my new project:

PS: Don't look at the oilstain on the road, that's from another car......

I'm from the west side (near The Hague, Rotterdam and Gouda), just to call out some known places.

Neat,

I drove the road from Maastricht to Einhoven to Nijmegen to Arnhem. Cause I liked the book [and the movie] A Bridge too Far. And I knew a guy who was in Operation Market Garden.

Cool!
Did you drove that route just for that, or where you on vacation or something?

I was over there visiting a lady friend in Geleen down near Maastricht and wanted to see some of the sites. We also drove down to Bastogne and Malmedy.

Later one we went I went all over Delft, Amsterdam, The Hague and somewhere up on the coast where it was cold and windy as all get out.

I'm sitting here laughing picturing a Vista Cruiser in one of those drive in Brothels you see in The Nederlands. Not very incognito

Welcome Anthony.

'71 Vista Cruisers rule!!
That looks like a '72 though?

I dig the Maltese cross fender mirror? A hood ornament? Is that an exhaust pipe sticking out in front of the rear tire?

Drive-in brothel?
They call those truck stops here.
I only had to pay for admission at the drive-in.

hi, the VC is from 28 february 1971.
The hoodornament was already there when I bought the car. It's an ugly piece of crap ornament (and I got a hole in my hoood now damned).

Exhaustpipe is now sticking out in front of my right rear wheel. I have a custom made exhaust ready to put under the car. It's a stainless steel exhaust with two pipes and has a balancepipe in between. Don't know what kind of exhaustdampers I'm gonna use, and how far the exhaust will come to the rear.........

The cruiser still has it's original paint and it's in a bad condition.
In time I'm gonna take the woodgrain of the car.

Then (I think) I'm gonna paint the car and get an airbrush artist who can spray the woodgrain on my car. Woodgrainstickers suck, they always loose their color.........

The topwindows are leaking like crazy, so I need to get the old windows out and put in some new ones (already got new windows lying here).

The interiour is looking brandnew, no need to work on that.
