ROP Transplant

Joined here a while ago but yet to post. Been on ROP for years and years. Tried to change my email over there and got my account locked.

Looks like I'll be checking out 2 Olds forums, assuming my account at ROP gets reactivated.

That is all!

I have tried joining ROP for the last 2 years. They never would activate the account. I don't believe there are any admins over there still working on the site. It's just sort of on cruise control.

Welcome Nick! I got the CO admins to create a Racing and High performance section over here at CO and slowly it is growing. Just remember this isn't ROP so the mods WILL NOT tolerate the sort of flaming that goes on over there. Everyone here is fairly cordial.

I'm one of the mellow guys on ROP. I avoid the political threads, and think the bashing between competing Olds vendors is silly. I do hope I am eventually able to get back on there, as I'd like to enjoy both sites.

Nick

Welcome Nick,

I'm still over on ROP but it's only a matter of time. One little change to your account info can get you deactivated. I've e-mailed Russell a bunch of times for guys on here that wanted to join there but I never get a reply anymore.

Welcome Nick. You ever get the 5-speed in? Was it a true bolt in?

Trans itself is a bolt in, yes. But the shop that did it fooked some stuff up and I have to go back and fix their mess.

No trans tunnel mods needed, just cut a hole for the shifter. I used the auto to manual kit from Keisler and hydraulic clutch upgrade from American Powertrain.

Welcome to CO! I also tried joining ROP for a while and gave up. No loss, this site is better anyway. Your ride looks nice, got anymore pictures?

Nick,

Do you have a 68 console or does the shifter come up in the center?

I am not using a factory console. When I ordered it from Keilser, they asked if I would be using a console to give me the correct shifter combo. I told them no console, just keep it centered. I have the shifter mounted on the passenger side of the stub, to give me a bit more room to work... I'm 6'6" so I need to make sure I'm comfortable in there.

I will just use a plain boot and trim ring, then a small universal arm rest cup holder combo.

I've seen consoles like this numerous times at shows, and they look nice. Plain vinyl finish matches the rest of the interior.
