Red Wine
Good Marine Corps day to you all.
In 94 I was a young PFC stationed at Pendleton Ca. Driving through the lemon lot I fell in love. She was a 72, red with white top Rocket 350 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. All up and down Cali, with a surf board sticking out of the back seat that car became a part of me. Hell she even got me my first one night stand. One weekend while driving from Watsonville back to Pendleton she threw the fan belts. While on the side of the highway my buddy "Stupid was his nick name" asked me what her name was. I had never named a car so I didn't know. Right then UB40 Red Red Wine came on the radio, and there you have it. I could write a book about all the fun and heartache that Red Wine and I shared. Unfortunately it all ended when in 2001 I made a colossal mistake that would haunt me until God takes me home. I sold her. So here it is 2012 and I with the approval of my wife "sick of listening to me whine about selling Red Wine" have found my redemption. 1972 Cutlass Supreme Convertible, with a #'s matching 455 TH400, 10 bolt posi. Split Bench with column shifter and AC. A little odd to me with the Bench but what can you do. She is in rough shape with the front clip off and no real interior to speak of. She is however all there and has 134,000 documented original miles. I have been fortunate enough so far to track down the previous 4 owners. Not quite to the original owner yet but I am working on it. Thanks to my wife and to all you Olds nuts out there.
