production numbers

I'm a newbe and this is my first post. Ive owned several Oldsmobiles and have found one I really like. I've owned a 1970 Olds cutlass supreme 4 door hardtop since 1972. Someone told me that there wern't very many of this model built. Since this car is my daily driver I'm thinking maybe I should start driving it less and keep it in the garage more. Anyone know the production numbers on this car?

Don't worry about it because even if they only produced 10 of those it wouldn't be worth all that much. 4 doors just don't have the value of a 2 door or a wagon. So drive the wheels of of it!!

Ouch, that's a little harsh. His question did not ask about the monetary value of it. It bothers me when preservation questions are automatically put into strictly dollars and cents. There *is* more to it than that. History and preservation of historical artifacts should not be reduced to an issue of monetary value.

Though some 4-door models are rare, the '70 Cutlass Supreme 4-dr was not. 10,762 while by no means is a high production number, it was the most of any A-body 4-door model in '70.

It wasn't meant to be harsh. The way in which his query was phrased made it seem as if he was concerned about the value of it and because of that he should stop driving it daily. At least that's what I saw.

1970 Cutlass Supreme values in #3 (car show quality) condition, according to the Old Cars Price Guide.

4-door hardtop: $5,180, production: 10,762, as noted by wmachine
2-door coupe: $9,450, production: 68,309
convertible: $11,250, production: 11,354

The values for the same condition car from Collector Car Market Review.

Thanks for all the replys. I don't care how much it's worth, I was just interested how many of them were built. The condition of the car is very good I've kept good care of it. I have had no problems in finding parts to keep the old gal running, probably because the only thing that has broke is the alternator. I wiil take some photos and post them if any one woul like to see what an everyday driver 40 years old looks like. My grandkids say i'm an old man driving an old car called an OLDS-MOBILE.

Yes please, post some pictures. I like to see pictures of cars that you don't see all the time. One reason why I never got rid of my '76. It will never command the money that the 68-72's get. But then again when people see mine at car shows they've never seen one before and always want to stop and talk about the car. Yours sounds like it would be in the rare catagory at a car show. Let's see it...oh, and welcome to the sight OLDS MAN

NEVER assume that we don't want to see photos. We always do!

What possessed you to keep it all these years? Do you routinely keep your cars for a long time? (Of course, if this is your only car, then the question is kind of moot.) How many miles are on it?
