Our 1958 Olds powered Dragster

Hi everyone.

We have a 1958 Chassis research that was the former Scrima-Adams car. They ran a 371 Olds in the car in 1958 and a 394 Olds in 1959. We have had the car for about 40 years and have been running it with a Ford 1949 Flathead but now we are ready to restore the car back to how it was in 58 or 59. The Olds engine is new to us so I'm glad we found this club to get some help. We are looking for a 371 or 394 engine also.

OldsDragster: Love the front engine, and glad you are putting an Olds back in it!! There is an older fellow in the Gulf Coast OCA Club that raced a very similar dragster back in the day. His name is Buggs Threadgill, and he would be an invaluable help in redoing your dragster. He can be a cranky old son-of-a-gun, but he knows his stuff. He's loud, also. Good luck!

Very cool Dragster! The engine in the pic is quite unique. Is that the flathead?

There are a lot of great people here who can help you. Good luck!
