This vintage Olds is out of my era of knowledge but if you drop on down to the vintage forum there is a on going thread that is active on this era, I'm sure someone will help you there....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

if you have fab skills it is no problem installing a 1st gen Olds V8 in a 47 Olds. the series 66 and 76 Olds came with a inline 6. The series 78 Olds came with a inline 8 so there is plenty of room for V8 you will just have to fab motor and transmission mounts and custom make a driveline.
