1947 Olds information

I recently bought a 1947 olds 2dr fastback the original motor is on it's last leg and I was wondering if a 394 olds would bolt in the same motor mounts on the front a friend of mine has a 394 with jetway trans I could get any info would help thanks Derek

How much different is the 1947 frame from the 1949 frame I'm looking to put a first gen olds v8 in my 1947 thanks Derek

I have a 47 olds 2dr fastback with 6cly I'm looking to drop in a first gen olds v8 in it how much difference is in the 47 frame from the 49 thanks Derek

I have a 47 hydra-mastic from a 6cly will that bolt up to a first gen engine 303-394 thanks Derek

What front subframe and rear end would be good match to put under my 47 2dr olds fastback?

I just bought a 47 olds 2dr torpedo back had original 6cyl in it with the hydra-matic looking to either put a 394 in with a jet away that I can pick up pretty cheap lower end all redone. Or put a subframe and put my 350 olds with turbo 350. Just looking for ideas either way with what sub frames work well and rear ends. Thanks I'm new to this site Derek

Well the Olds v8 rocket came out in 1949 so there would not be v8 mounts in the 47. I dont know if 49 V8 mounts would adapt to the 47 frame but if they did you have a shot at the 394 boltup. Just my opinion.

I'm not sure how the motor mount works on a 47 but in all the first generation V8 cars the engine mounts in the front under the timing chain cover and the rear mounts are located on the sides of the transmission. Kinda triangle type of a setup. I doubt if anything would be close to a direct bolt up but would be possible with modification....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd
