Olds newbie needs help

Hey guys I'm new to the olds world, just picked up a1966 delta 88 2dr with the original 425 4bbl. I mainly bought it for the motor as the body is in pretty terrible shape, but the more I look at it the more it is a shame to let this car rot away. Is there anywhere to find body panels for these cars or am I up a creek on this one?

Welcome, and congrats on your purchase. Post some pictures so we can see what your up against. Craigslist, ebay, and on here for repair parts. Your not up the creek but paddling against the current.

Welcome. Unfortunately the only available body panels will be good used sheet metal from the desert southwest.

Ill try to get some pics loaded up, but the list of pieces I need is fairly long, rocker panels, driver side quarter and fender and he lower quarter and fender on the passenger side. I am in Saskatchewan where the winter roads will really take a toll on a fifty year old car. Floors and trunk still are good, runs amazing, the interior is almost perfect. The car is a numbers matching, buckets and console, factory 4bbl. Which from what I have read isn't all that common, which is why to me it is a shame to sell for scrap

Does anybody know what kind of production numbers this car would have had? From what I've found a 2 door with buckets an console and the 4 bbl I fairly rare, but I haven't found any actual numbers on it.

Welcome..I once had a 69 Delta Royale with buckets, console, tape, 455 4bl. Loved that car and kick myself often for letting it go. Good luck on yours!

I dont think the production numbers will tell you how many had buckets and console. I can tell you those are rare. The 4bbl carb is somewhat rare as well as the standard 425 in the 66 Delta was a 2bbl. Your car would be even rarer with the Sfire option 425 with dual exhaust. Its is a shame that there is so much rot on the body. Perhaps you need a donor car.

Production figures down to the level of how many had this or that option or option combinations were not kept. This was way before the era of computer databases.

We can tell you that production of 1966 Delta 88 two-door hardtops, otherwise known as "Holiday Coupes," was 20,857. Production of the other three Delta 88 body styles that year was

Celebrity Sedan (four-door post): 30,140
Holiday Sedan (four-door hardtop): 33,326
Convertible: 4,303

Remember, in 1966, Olds was still offering three 88 lines, which included the Jetstar 88 and Dynamic 88. If you add them all together, total 88 production in 1966 was quite large at about 215,000. The most-produced of any 88 that year was the Dynamic 88 Celebrity Sedan at 38,742. Second was the Delta 88 Holiday Sedan noted above.

The donor car idea is more the way I'm leaning, as the interior in this car is complete and other than a few rips in the seats is in great condition. I haven't figured out how to load pictures, I would like I show exactly what I was workin with.
