Hello everyone. Have hidden in the dark for a while. I´m from Sweden and have had a long relationship to classic cars. I am about to start up a groundup renovation on my 1957, 98 coupe. First die is thrown.....Does anyone out there know how much oversize cyl.bore a 371 cui, can take without jeopardizing the cooling?

Welcome to CO.
Sounds like a great project.
I myself am clueless about
anything but basics on the 50's models.
But they are some of the coolest cars for sure.
Post up some pics, we would love to see it.

Welcome aboard,

I think the problem you face is not how far out you can bore a 371 but where are you going to find pistons to fill that over bore. Can you sleeve the damaged hole and put it back to something that is commonly available?

Give Ross Racing a call they will know if pistons are available for your particular problem They are the know all for first generation Olds engines, I believe they also ship over seas.

There are just a few of the 98 convertibles here. But this coronado yellow one I think is still owned by a guy named Tommy Tellfeldt from Edsbro.

We have pistons all the way to .125 over for your 371.....we sonic check all blocks before boring. have never found one that wouldnt be safe at .100 and most will still go to .125 if need be.....we never use up any more than nessasary.

Nice to see you guys on here. I will be contacting you guys in the future about possible parts for my twin turbo build. I was the guy that called you the other day about if a single carb intake was ever made.
