newbie with trans leak
hello all first thread ,i got 72 cutlass s 350 trans & motor and has a leak on passsenger side of trans from some sort of pressure switch by fill tube & kickdown cable that appears to be wet can anyone tell me what this switch is for ? thanks bill
Welcome Bill to the forum. Sounds like it is the transmission kickdown solenoid that's leaking. I am not sure if any auto parts house carries just the gasket. If they do not have just the gasket, you could try a transmission shop and tell them what you need. Otherwise, you would have to order a new switch and I am pretty sure that comes with a new gasket. Hope that helps.
thanks for the responce i checked at auto parts store they had a picture and it wasn't a solenoid . this thing has one wire on it .had a 70 cutlass back in the day and i think i replaced it also and i could swear it was for the back up lights but with this wire disconected the lights still work i dont know bill
Wouldn't that be the transmission pressure switch for the Transmission Controlled Spark (TCS) system?
