Newbie, Riverside CA.

Hello all,
Found this forum by virtue of my brother. We had been looking for a 1955 Olds 88, 2 door, no post and pulled the trigger on one in December. We wanted to get this as it was my dads first car he ever bought new that one could consider a classic. Our folks passed away (dad-lymphoma two years ago, and our mom in 2007..ovarian). We wanted this to be a "tribute" car in honor of them.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I'll be dropping in time to time.

Welcome to the site, congrats on your purchase. Sorry about your folks. Look forward to some pictures of it. We have a bunch of guys on here stuck in the 50's and very knowlegable on that vintage.

She's in the shop right now for brakes, but here's a snap of her. I'm still reading up on posting pics.

The folks in their '55 Rocket 88.

Another. Sorry, having issues figuring out posting multiple pics in one post.

Thanks for merging those photo's, and the nice welcome. As I get a little more familiar with the site, I'll most likely learn all the tricks to posting, but I appreciate the help.
The car is in really good condition as it has had new paint and interior. Brakes, radiator and transmission are getting sorted out now at the shop. I'll tinker with a few of the other issues over time.

Welcome aboard CO Ned.Looks like your car has good start, looking good. I love the look of a 55 Holiday.

As mentioned above there are many who know most of what makes a 55 tick, just ask. Many 50's types hang out on the vintage forum and you can get help there or just post in a any appropriate forum heading.

If you are trying to post pictures from your PC and only one will post at a time your picture file is to large (should be under 100 mb's and they will need to be re sized) .If you are posting from a phone I can't help you others are having the same problem and I don't know if a fix has been found as yet. Take a look at the sticky at the top of the newbie forum about posting pictures and that will explain it better than I....Lost in the 50's ...Tedd

Welcome to the site, Ned. The car looks beautiful, best of luck with it!

I think it's cool that you and your brother were able to do this. I'm sure it'll bring back a lot of cool memories.
