I live in SE WI and among my collection of things with motors is a 1955 Super 88 2dr hardtop. Life and other projects have put the car on hold quite a while, but I'm hoping to get back to it soon and will start looking for some answers to my questions.

There is lots of knowledge here so feel free to ask your questions. And remember there are no dumb questions. Only dumb answers.

Like what Red said the heat is on us to get you on the right track. The great majority of the people here are to help and to learn them selves. Most of us have been in your shoes, many before the internet when the majority of help was trial and error, We are a self-governing bunch of inveigles and when we find someone giving bogus information we clean up our own mess. Welcome aboard.. Lost in the fifties ...Tedd

Welcome back! As Red and Tedd stated above, ask away! BTW, did anyone mention we like pictures? Let's see that sweet Super 88!

Welcome to Classic Oldsmobile. It is always fine to ask questions. This site is full of knowledge. No such thing as a stupid question.

Pictures are necessary. Puhlease 🙏🍻

As I bought it with the exception of the small cones on the wheel covers.

After lowering and having the door handles and some trim removed.

The car has been repainted and is now currently white and green, but has not been completely put back together yet. Questions coming soon.

Can't wait to see current pictures. There are plenty of purists that won't care for the modifications. Personally those cars scream great candidate for custom to me. I love the mid fifties Oldsmobile's. The grill alone looks custom on it's own. Keep us updated. I want to see the current color etc.
