Newbie Owner In NE Ohio
Hey there everyone, glad to be a part of this forum.
I bought a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible (350 rocket 4 barrel carb) about a year and half ago for a couple grand in need of a complete restoration. Since then, I have done a near complete tear down (minus engine, exhaust, and gas tank/fuel lines) and have cleaned/painted most of the front end chassis parts.
I just graduated from college this semester, and thus I now have the time to get this fine piece of machinery put back together this summer. I will be looking to you guys for advise and support as I hit snags along the way, and will of course be contributing back once I have acquired a decent amount of hands-on experience.
I will be posting some pictures later on this week once I am back at the garage.

Thanks - looking forward to letting my inner gear head out. Here are a few pics to give you an idea of where it all started. The primer job was done by the previous owner. I'm 99% sure it was done to try and hide a few bondo repairs... my trusty magnet found it at point of sale though.
Might as well give a little bit of background on this purchase as well...I think it makes for a good story... even though I am a little biased hehe.
My father owned a 1969 Cutlass Convertible in Midnight blue with white interior. My mother and him took that car on a cross country trip to all kinds of parks, landmarks, and famous roadways across the US before they settled down and had us kids (I just turned 25). He sold that car to help with the start up costs of raising a family in the early 80's. My dad abruptly passed away in late June 2010, and one of the things he always talked about was how much he missed that car and how badly he wanted to do a restore with me and my two brothers (he sold the car a while back to help buy a house and raise a family).
Ever since then I have been wanting to restore a classic old's in his memory, so now since I have the time and resources - here we go!
