newbie to the Oldsmobile brand

Hello my name Is Jose Gonzalez, call me Joe, / jojo

I am a Huge Buick fan but had to sell them for school payments but I recently came a cross a nice 67 Delta 88, with the Ultra High Compression 2 bbl 425. I believe it also has the switch pitch transmission .

I did a tune up, and also tracked down a cheap toronado intake, swapped it to the 4bbl and topped it off with a spacer and a 1406 edelbrock carb . I also added a single glasspack but will later swap to 2 of them with exhaust running out of the sides.

I also replaced the vac advance on the dizzy, master cylinder , fuel pump and now working on the brakes! Never ends with these, once I fixed something perfectly, another quit, other than that it runs soooo smooth, fires right up and cruises really quick .

92000 original miles

I am looking for a repro place for seat covers or if another make can be used i would love to know so I can get it done

I also plan on adding nice meats on the 15 inch wheels along with dog dish hub caps like the CHP cruisers which got me stoked .

Yes its a 4 door and I am not such a huge fan but it looks awesome and drives like a dream, would make a nice replica CHP cruiser

I'm surprised how effortlessly it moves,

Does anyone else here have a B body?

I read up on some awesome 4 speed b-bodies that would make mine super awesome, ultimate sleeper, a 4 door 4 speed stealth bomber haha ill attempt to post pics soon

I'm glad to have found this site, everyone seems knowledgeable

Oh yea I am located in San Jose CA

The 4 speed is not just a drop and swap with Oldsmobile unfortunately because they didn't drill the crank for the pilot bushing unless is was going into a 4sp car to begin it's life. You can have the crank drilled out for it, but you'll really need to disassemble the engine for that.
As far as the interior goes you'll probably be better off finding an upholsterer to recover the seats as I don't really know of any aftermarket stuff for the old big cars, but I could be wrong on that because I've always been an A-body guy myself.

The hardest part of the 4 speed conversion would be finding the pedal asy.
The drilling of the crank and the use of a adapter pilot brg is easy, just finding the pedals for the "B" body.

Wecome you picked a good one to buy. I have a 67 Delmont 88 2-door hardtop (holiday coupe). My car also has 425 Super Rocket with the variable pitch converter. The car's like mine and your's are rare. The Delmont was only made 2yrs 67-68, and both year's where different body style. Same way on your Delta 67-68 are bastard year's. Some Impala part's will fit. I seen one at car show last week it had 4 taillight's. It was a 67 delta with a 68 delta bumber. Why the change to a 4- barrel? Hell mine has a 2-barrel with 310hp stock, and damn at the torque. Have the vavle guides been changed? If not man you either need to change guides, or run a lead additive to your gas. Mine hates ethanol, it spark knock's on 93 ethanol.

Not sure what you're talking about here.

For both of its years of existence, the Delmont 88 was offered in four body styles, four-door sedan ("Town Sedan"), four-door hardtop ("Holiday Sedan"), two-door hardtop ("Holiday Coupe"), and a convertible.

And, as the owner of a '67 Delta 88, I sure as hell would like to know what this comment means:

Okay the Delmont was the base model for 67-68. After 68 they dropped the Delmont and stuck with Delta. As for bastard year's 67 is different from a 68 and they are different from the other year's. And when i say this i refer to body part's. 67 tailight's was in the car, 68 taillight's are in bumber. Same way for the frontend grille, bumber, etc. are different between 67 and 68.

When i say different bodystyles, i was refering to the bodypart's being diiferent. Just like i said above. You can set them side by side and tell the difference. I am not a complete idiot, i do no that you could get car's in 4-door hardtop,2-door hardtop, etc.

I had a hell of a time finding a front bumber. The 67 Delmont has turn signal in bumber. The 67 Delta has them in grille. And the 68's are totally different.

Well before the bashing, Jose you really need to find out if the valve guides has been changed. It is not good to run unleaded gas in a car set up for leaded.

Yes, but there's nothing unique about this. 1964 88's are vastly different from '65s which were in turn different from '66s which were different from '67s which were different from '68s which were different from '69s and on and on. There's nothing uniquely "bastardly" about the '67s versus the '68s or vice versa. Olds changed the styling every year on its full-size cars through that era. Some parts interchange, but body and trim generally do not.

You need parts for your '67 Delta, they'll likely have to come from another '67 Delta. As you noted, even the bumpers, both front and rear, are different on a '67 Delta versus a '67 Delmont versus a '67 98. This wasn't Oldsmobile trying to make itself a pain in the *** to auto restorers 45 years later. This was Oldsmobile trying to sell cars in 1967 and making slight changes in them so each model would be unique and give buyers more styling options to choose from.

The term "body style" has a specific meaning, and not in the manner you used it. What you mean is that body and trim parts are different from model to model even in full-size Oldsmobiles of the same model year. Yes, this is frustrating to restorers as it greatly limits the other cars with which ours will interchange parts.

The word is bumper, Lester, with a "p," not bumber.
