You know the old saying about something sounding too good to be true? I'd like to see how this one goes.....

Yeah it threw me off when I saw it but what the heck , who knows.. Maybe its a more recent HiPerf shop built crate motor rather than a 60's vintage GM one..?

We had talked about 3 330's that were NOS a few years back for sale. I wonder if this is 1 of those.

If it had a 4 speed drilled forged crank that would be worth it alone

Then it would be a REBUILT motor. A crate motor is a brand new motor built with brand new castings. The only Oldsmobile crate motors are N.O.S. ones from the factory. Unlike Chevy and Ford motors, no one is making brand new Olds block castings.

Yes, I realize that much of the world misuses the term "crate motor" to mean "rebuilt". Let's not continue that misuse here.

Dude your preaching to the choir, I just copied the text from the ad. I know what a GM crate motor (engine) and what New versus Rebuilt , Remanufactured is... and NOS... just thought a member may live close enough to go check it out and snag it if its worth anything. I would doubt you could get even get a 330 crate engine in the 1970's since they phased out after 67.. It could be NOS but maybe its something else.. a bit far for me and I don't want to contact the seller and lead them with questions myself..

Even if it's rebuilt, if it's done right, $350. is still a steal.
A rebuildable core is worth $150.-250.

I saw a 63 Corvette roadster on Craigslist for $4500.00 once. Had pictures too. I think some of those ads are just to get your info or something - most times you get no response from your inquiry.

I missed a 69 Trans Am convertible in Annapolis MD once for near nothing because I didn't believe the price......someone else got it and flipped it at Carlyle a few days later for 10 times what he paid for it-----you never know.
