Hello everyone,
I guess I should have looked for this site many years ago, but better late than never. I am the second owner of a '67 442. I bought the car in Essex , MD in 1973 and have had it ever since. Thought about selling it in 1986, then came to my senses and restored it in 1988.
little history...car was an original 400, 4 speed, 3.90 geared hardtop. Pewter silver, black interior, spoke-wheel hubcaps. It was a beautiful car, but was 18 at time of purchase, so I beat on it RPM wise (never wrecked or damaged) and changed many things over the years.
Final product is now powered by 540 Chevy and turbo 400. There have been a lot of other changes over the years, but too much info for a first post. I'll tell you about what happened to the original 400, but you die hard "numbers matching" guys will need fair warning and a very good restraining device when you read about it; all I can say is "we do stupid things when we're young". For now, the car remains a part of the family; three of my 4 sons have driven it to their proms and the fourth one wants to do the same, so it's got some history
I'll also get a few pictures on here when I figure it out.
While I am here, where would I post to search for another Olds owner in the Reno, NV area??? I met him during the Power Tour in 1999 and lost touch. He had a twin car to mine. I remember the license plate was "Faux42" as he had cloned it.
Thanks,
Bob

Wecome to CO 540 Olds! Gainesville, huh! Guess what, it's just a short run down IH35W to where the North Texas Olds Club is having it's annual Zone Show at the Marriott Hotel on Hwy 114 across from Texas Motor Speedway on October 7-9th. Hope you can join us. Google North Texas Olds club and go to our site for more information and entry forms. Regristration at the host hotel must be made by this Friday to get discounted rates!!! Hope you and your 4 boys can join us. We will be drag racing at North Star Dragway in Denton Saturday night, also.

NICE!!!! I think I'll have to make room on my calendar for that. If I come, I won't open the hood. It's not clean enough under there for now anyway.
Looking forward to it.
I am trying to upload a picture and a quick video..................
Thanks again,
Bob

Re-painted in 1988 by a friend who taught paint/body at a high school. It is not the original GM pewter silver, but very close. I think he used a silver from a 1988 Toyota truck..?? The original color had more of a green tint to it.
Take a look at GM Cortez Silver ...close to this color.

Welcome to CO
Sounds like a car story here. Introduce the car here but take the build story to the non-Olds powered section for discussion. I'll be one of the people reading the story as I am a car guy.
Thanks
