Newbie in NOVA
Hey, I am 16 years old and i got my first car. My first car i recieved my father's 1972 Cutlass Supreme. This car was my father's first car also. However the car has been in ok condition for about 10 years. I would like to upgrade a few items on the Cutlass like suspension, rebuild the carb, and just get it back to its original glory. I am restoring it myself with my money so if you know anyone who is close to Northern VA i would appreciate it! Any other suggestions would be nice!

I agree.. I love this car. Ive loved since i was 6. We got the brakes replaced and the engine is so so. It needs the carbeurator rebuilt and the throttle cable adjusted. It runs nice though for forty year old car

Dayum, youngun- you'll be the coolest kid in the high school parking lot for sure.
Your car is Radiant Green, one of the special order 1972 colors.
Someone here probably has a decent right rear wheel opening molding for you too. Seems like I remember there were a lot of 70-72 cars in the CCR so you may even find one close to home.

Hell I had to wait 54 years to get my first 72 CS Convertible
When I was 13 I got my father's push bike (which was his fathers). The rims were almost as wide as your cars'. It was not a cool bike.
You are lucky young bloke. The car looks great (love radiant green). All the best getting it looking and going just the way you want. Be careful in it and make sure your mates respect it like you do. (No eating, no drinking, no smoking, no muddy shoes, no dirty clothes, no yahooing, no mooning, no burnouts, no street racing....but most of all have fun )
Welcome aboard.

I think im going to keep it green for two reasons. One is because wen people will notice who i am automatically haha.. and two my father wants me to keep it green for his sake!

Welcome to CO! Great story that it was your Dad's car, also. Put 'er back like she used to be; you will be the envy of your schoolmates, and bet'cha meet quite a few good looking girls along the way, also.

That, my young friend, can be a double-edged sword.
Said the man who drove a screaming gold Toronado for several years. There was never any doubt who it was...
As stated earlier, Radiant Green is one of the special order 1972 colors. That in itself is enough to keep it green.
A convertible is a chick magnet. Let's hope the girls in his school aren't snotty BMW types and can appreciate riding with the top down, being half insane...

No i didnt get my trim answer yet. But if you know if anyone has that kind of trim let me know!
#38
P.S. = keep the color, it's quite frankly the coolest i've seen on an olds vert yet.

Here is your trim answer-it took a while to get to them! A schoolbus stuffed full of parts-i found my long-lost pile of 65 type auto consoles,my nice red convert.interior (65),some real nice 65 doors and decklids, another 65 fender,71 grilles in primo shape,a T bucket body, and a 32 Chevy roadster body. And only about 1/3 of the way in! I put this stuff in there over 16 years ago,and forgot about most of it.Here are the pics, the pair is from the 71 conv, the other was with them, but it may be a 65 piece. One of the 71 pieces has 2 small dings, easy fix.I think you want the other one, that one is perfect! ---bil

hell, I had the most fun in my car doing all those things colonel. LOL!!!! don't forget back seat shinanigans. LOL!!! Just kiddin' gotta respect the car first son. Anyway, got yourself a prize there, thank the pops and be sure to take him on some rides every now and then to show your appreciation. Nice car young lad, quite jealous as I'm sure a lot here are of it. Hope it gives you fond memories. When you get older you'll understand how important they are.
