Sunk front bumper in
I am picking up a 77 Olds Cutlass pretty much a basket case for interior But the car it self came Dallas,Texas. EDIT: AMARILLO NOT DALLAS my bad
I know I know everyone says this but that is what the previous owner has stated to me. I will get some pics of it when i get it here.
I love the 73 -77 cars like this And help manage a site called G3GM.com (NO this is not an ad for us over there) but just to get more knowledgeable about the Oldsmobile cutlass, for I have had Chevy only for such a long time.
I was restoring (resto-mod) type if you will a 1976 Laguna it met its demise in a shop collapse (11" of snow then 3" of ice on top of that = roof fall in on cars, my bro in laws pro street camaro can be fixed, but unfortunatly my Lagna did not survive as nicely with taking the brunt of the collapse with 2 6x6 beams landing across the roof and trunk area, the force was so much it literally cracked all 4 aluminum ansen slots I had on the car.
Fast forward about 2 months, insurance company reimbursed me some for my loss but my bro-in law forgot to put the storage insurance on his policy for my car so pretty much the car is a loss............
Now I have all these parts for a car and no home for them......... the search begins i find one a 1973 Cutlass S great find sold from under me ....strike one
find another one really really like this a 1976 hurst optioned car you guessed it strike 2
finally after severely being disappointed looking at car after car after after car and maybe having to settle on a 72 cutalss ( not that's a bad thing) I just have all these parts from my Laguna and wanna re-use them NOT sell them................I try one more time locally i found a 77 Cutlass body looks straight he says its from texas go Look at it and this is the one that will be in garage in a little while.
this is the only pic I have for I forgot my camera when I originally looked at it.............wont dilvulge how much I paid but lets just say it aint much.
AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THE FRONT BUMPER / HEADER PANEL IS ONLY ATTACHED BY ONE BOLT EACH SIDE THEY ARE NOT BENT WHAT SO EVER

Welcome aboard... The Illinois Valley Olds Club is holding it's yearly BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) swap meet at the DuPage County fairgrounds in Wheaton on March 28th, may find some items there for the '77

^^^ tell me more details please, I am only a short drive from there
As far as the interior I am golden EXCEPT the correct door panel's and seat upholstery everything else interchanges from My laguna and can any one tell the wheels on the Cutlass did they make them in a 15 x 8" wide or is it just the illusion with the bigger tires on the car.
#7
I think the stock width was less than 8 inches. If you can get to the back of one, the size should be stamped on it, I think there is a thread on the site that shows the exact location. Welcome to CO>

thanks everyone for the warm welcome even though I was chebbie guy LOL as it so lovingly put in a few threads I found here LOL
it must be the wide tires then giving the Illusion of wider wheels then........and when the car gets here I will find out for sure I guess.................now begins the waiting game of it getting here LOL

You might also want to visit www.73-77olds.com and see what the guys overthere have for sale. Good bunch of guys (just like here) and lots of 73-77 Cutlass parts as that's the only years they deal with. Welcome to Classic Oldsmobile.

It took me 6 months to get my conformantion over there. Not sure why though.
Byron....lucky B*s*a*d being that close to the track.
I lived in the NW burbs for 23 years so I know where you're comming from with the snow. That really sucks about the Laguna getting smashed. Did any of the front end stuff survive? That's what really makes those cars stand out above a Chevelle for sure.
Good luck with the 77. I had a 76 Salon and a 75 S. The 75 was a RUST HOLE HEAP, but the 76 was nice until I got hit broadside by a minivan. (my fault....ill-advised left turn)

yea Randy live 1.8 miles away......... and yea all the suspension, front clip survived, all glass was blown out as it was all rolled up to keep the unwanted out of it....... crushed the roof, trunk area and rear quarters, all 4 ansen sprints were cracked on impact (WHICH were new just put on btw) I had all the interior out of the car for I was getting to lay the sound deadenr and such so the whole Interior is safe and sound here at my place...........waiting for the transplant.

Hi Limey, I'm just down the road in Davis Junction. It's nice to have another N IL guy around. I'm not doing a 77, but you never know what might swap over. I see you too are going restomod, otherwise I still have a 455 block, rods, pistons, free to good home, I need the room.

Limey, I'll give you a call to set up a time to drop it off. I have to dig it out first. Nothing has been checked on it. I used the N crank and sold the G heads, but the rest is still there.
