Newbie John

Hi everyone, I bought a 67 Cutlass Supreme convertible with the L66 Turnpike Cruising package from an online ad 9 months ago, currently undergoing a professional frame-on restoration back to original factory specs. I have taken a leap of faith as I bought the car sight unseen, and haven’t seen it yet. I’m in Oregon and the car is in Boston area. Progress seems to have gone slowly for me, but I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, as all the metal and most body work are complete and it’s scheduled for paint in 3 weeks. Going with crystal blue, as the interior is blue, with a black top, redlines, and SS1 wheels The engine, 400 2bbl, and turbo 400 transmission have both been rebuilt. The car has factory A/C and tilt wood steering wheel. Also the tic toc tach, which needs some work, as the plastichrome is bad and the plastic gauge covers are cracked. We may go with a Dakota digital if we can’t find someone to restore the original. We’re adding front disc brakes, power windows and trunk release.
I was only able to upload one photo, this one being before any work was begun.

From one John to another John, Welcome to the group... Good luck with your new acquisition... Was the restoration being done in the Boston area part of the purchase deal or did you simply decide to have it restored there after purchase and then shipped to you???

The car was advertised in Hemmings. The restoration shop and car are near Boston. Car will be delivered as part of the deal

Welcome. there are plenty of shops out there that restore gauges. Check Hemmings, a few are listed there. Ron Roth, a member here, restores '67 dashes.

There is at least one member here who restores gauges, as well. Good luck with the project. It will be fun to see the finished product!
