Newbie From IL With TONS OF QUESTIONS !!!!
Long story short, I came across a 72 Supreme too good to pass. Been sitting for over 20 yrs. I'm new to the Olds community but just through browsing this site the past few weeks, I can tell there is a plethora of information on here. I look forward to all of the gurus input as to what I have. Going back next week to trailer her home. So far i see M2M in the VIN, 350 4bbl, dual exh. with 4 speed trans. Maybe it's ***** but for 2k I would have regretted it the rest of my life !!!

Thanks to all for the welcome !!! I was on the way home from central Wisconsin to illinois with an old wheelhorse lawn tractor. the wire harness burnt up due to a leaking gas tank. Boy you should have seen me riding that thing with both feet up in the air as flames rolled out... Whole nother story !!! We stopped at the rest stop at the state line, when we came out this old feller was admiring the tractor on the trailer. He told us (my father and I ) he had a bunch of tractor parts and lives a few miles away. Yea I've seen movies start like this too.... We followed him home to see this sitting in a barn about to fall over. He said it was at a shop to be restored 15yrs ago. Sat there a few years. Shop owner got cancer,,few more years pass. Guy passes away. He went and picked it up 7 yrs. ago and sat here ever since. He backed into the passenger door with his bobcat which is why I assume he parked it and left it. A branch also fell onto the windshield , which is what is in between the bucket seats. He also gave me a new gas tank so the hopes of a build sheet narrows .....

Agree with the above that someone here will know the answer to whatever question you ask. All damage you mentioned is easy repaired so don’t stress over that stuff.
Overall collectively we are the best resource for information and advice for all of your questions; just ask and don’t be bashful about asking even what you think is trivial- we understand and will answer as best we can.

Welcome From the fox valley area you have lots of good Oldsmobile guys on the area. And with an upcoming swap meet you may be able to network a bit and find parts. Good luck. Looks like you got a great find

Since you're a driver by occupation, I'm sure you know the difference between traveling Rte 31 vs. Randal Road &/or Rte 47. Rte 31 is all stop &go, Randal Road is a straight shot (more or less country) and of course Rte 47 has limited traffic.

Great car and nice save! I have its factory 455/4 speed twin in PA, via San Bernardino county. As a Lansing-built car, your best bet is a broadcast card in the back seat if it didn’t have buckets originally. Check the M20trans for a VIN stamp when you get it home. If it’s factory, I’ll add it to the 350 cars section of my ‘72 4 speed registry.

Terry, thanks for the info. We got 3-5" of that white stuff here in Illinois but i hope to clear some garage space. We got it before it got messy out. So far it looks like the original intake just painted. Holley carb, and some valve covers. I see whats left of some gold on the filler neck. Can't wait for a little nicer weather !!

Good pics. Originally Flame Orange (65) bucket seat car (A51) with a tan vinyl top (F) built the fourth week of January 1972 (1D). Not sure what that intake is but it’s not the original 1972 piece. Interesting with the all caps
OLDSMOBILE on it. Glad it’s been safely extracted.
