Newbie!! And I got questions!!!

Hello, my names Lauren and I just recently got ahold of a 1965 425 big block.( My dream olds motor) I have the block, complete heads, intake, even the points distributor, oil pan & (oil fill neck), valve covers, "Super Rocket" air cleaner, even the nylon timing gear AND chain! oh and water pump. and blah blah the list goes on.

So anyway, I need to get this bad boy onto my engine stand. I have the right size bolts that go into the block where the bellhousing goes. BUT i have that rotating engine stand with the really long fingers and the bolts are too short. Where can I find these bolts? Home depot and places like that dont have strong enough bolts for this. So im trying to find a high grade bolt to get goin on my blueprinting! Thanks guys!!

Welcome

Welcome aboard

Round these parts, most auto supply and even Lowes have grade 8 bolts in all different lengths.

x2 on Lowes.

I've also purchased grade 8 bolts at Ace though they are very proud of them. Welcome to CO.

Okay sounds great. Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I'm just real eager to start this project and spend hours blueprinting! I don't know why but I enjoy it. It really makes you appreciate what you've done when you first turn the key for break in.

You should be able to go to the yellow pages and look under the heading of fasteners or bolts. There you can find an outlet that sell nothing but fasteners! You will also find that they can be very helpful with other items as well. Good luck!
