Hello all! I just purchased a 1967 Olds 98 convertible. I have been wanting one since I was about 10 years old, and I finally got it. Yeah! I just found this site and I am excited, cause I am going to have a lot of questions I'm afraid. My car is about 80% restored and is a real nice driver, but I would like to take it to the next level! Didn't fully realize how hard it is to find certain parts, ie: pot metal trim, rocker panels, etc., but it's fun searching. Appreciate how friendly everyone seems to be to people here. Makes me feel like almost any question is not too stupid to ask. Just wanted to say hi and if someone explains to me how to post a pic, I'd gladly do it...if anyone cares that is. Take care!

The best way , I have found to post pic is using an off site like photobucket or one of your choice . copy image URL insert in your post .
Co does have away to upload pics, but there is a size restriction .

Lol. I'm trying! I've spent the last hour trying to figure out Photobucket. Now I am trying to figure out how to copy the URL to post so you can see the pics. Hopefully in a couple minutes. Now I'm nervous everyone is expecting some awesome car. Keep in mind I just got it and I'm trying to fix it all up! I'm going to post...somewhere here...all the things that are wrong that I am going to need some help. OK, back to the task of posting picks. There needs to be an easier way!!
Alright, I meant pics, not picks. I found this car at a local dealership. I was driving with the kids and I spotted it. I slammed on the brakes and ran up to the car. I was measuring it off with my feet and my wife comes driving up out of nowhere. She said, "Your trying to see if that is going to fit in our garage aren't you?!" Lol. Well, long story short, it does! My 3 year old calls it the red race car boat! Thanks to everyone for caring enough to respond!

I have a '67 Delta 88 convertible, which is very similar to your car. Maybe I can help you out now and then. There are a few other '67 full-size owners on here who might chime in as well.

Thanks! I doubt original, unless this car was ordered by Adam West originally. Lol. Also, I doubt the white top was the original color, but my personal preference is white over black. So I'm OK with the interior and the top not matching. Speaking of, man that black gets toasty in the Kansas sun! Whew!
It's actually very easy. I've posted a few of your pics below so that people don't have to go to the photobucket website. The car looks great, but certainly that red trim on the seats is not original. At least, I wouldn't think so. But it does go well with the car itself being red.

It looks like this:

I think there is a code number on it that will indicate the original top color. It could very well have been white.
As far as posting photos hosted on other sites, just right-click on the photo, choose "copy image location," then come back to this site, click on the little image icon (
), and paste in the link you just copied. When you preview or submit the reply, the image will show.As I said, do post a photo of your cowl tag. The one on my '67 is what I posted above. I suggest that you not try to copy it and transcribe what it says here as people make so many mistakes in reading the stampings that it isn't funny. A clear, close-up photo is always better.

Wow, I am not going to get any job offers in a car shop any time soon. It took me hours to remove the door panel, vent window, redo the weather stripping, and fix broken wires. I'm not looking forward to doing the other side! Putting that vent window back in caused me some increased blood pressure. Also had trouble with the bulbs for the courtesy lights in the back arm rest. I had to pull it all out to get the bulb to fit in, then put the back plate over the bulb. Side note, the parts from Fusick, although cooler looking are not the same shape as original. They are not curved enough. Happy to report that all is back together and working awesome! My car was originally white Jaunty75. Don't know what color the top was originally. I'll try your method of posting a pic. Sorry for copying everything in my response, I didn't mean to do that. Guess that's why there is a newbie forum. Thanks everyone!

Next up is the steering wheel. Has anyone ever tried one of those kits? Mine has several silver rings in it that will complicate things. Also, my horn doesn't work. Would that be the contacts in the steering wheel, or actually the horns? My guess in the contacts. I think I remember them going out on our cars growing up too. Lol. Spending $700 to have it refurbished is not super high on my list as I would rather put my money into the dash, but that is even more money!

I bought a 49 Fastback about 9/11 and brought it home just after the disaster, I have been working on it since then, still working on it but finally made some progress this year. I am going to attempt to put a picture here, wish me luck. I guess no luck. built 1.jpg

Anyway it has c-4 Corvette suspension and a 454 with a Tremec 5 speed, next item is glass and electrical then upholstery. I figure I will be done in a year or two, things go slow.
AH, I see success with pictures. Hope no Olds fans are put out by having Chevy drivetrain, but its a rod and still an OLDS

I can tell you that the 07A on the upper left refers to the build date, and it translates to the first week (A) of July (07), and I assume that would be July 1967. That would mean your car was built very late in the 1967 model year.
What's your car's VIN? I'm guessing the serial number (last six digits) will be relatively high as your car apparently was one of the last to roll off the assembly line that year.

Thanks for posting such a clear photo of your cowl tag. I don't have the codes, but someone on here will. I'm guessing the "C-2" will tell us the upper and lower body colors.
