Newbie here
Hello, Judge here and am a newbie to the forum. Looking for info on my 1938 coupe, been setting inside now for 38yrs first my uncle, then cousin,
now I have the car. Froze up and just pulling head, I filled with at a few years ago. Hoping for the best!!
Let me be the Judge, That is one hella of a car and should be brought back to its former glory! Looks like it’s an original car so it wouldn’t take much to do it. Please don’t put a Chebby motor in it.
Wow, can you imagine what this car looked like in 1938, stunning no less? The owner must have been quite "well-off" to afford such a purchase. As a comparison, a first-class meal served in a railroad dining car at the time would set you back about $1.20, a huge sum for many at the time.

I agree. This car was in blue was super unusual. I love it.

Well, she's not turning over yet, working on some wheels. 16x7 with the stock center/with hubcap and ring. Lot of work but new tires and 38 wheels just don't work for me. Will post pics when finished.
I did pull the manifolds, head, valves and ground the same and seats. Cannot lap till she turns, valve springs and keepers are going to be a bit testy also. Dropped one keeper to the pan and will retrieve if and when she turns over. Have a few cylinders draining slowly!
manifold gaskets? Mine are not metal coated intakes appear to be fiber, haven't seen any of them in the replacement sets.
Maybe they were changed.
My plan is to keep it as is with some minor repairs along with the wheels that I will custom offset. Have a Great Day, Judge

About the color, looks to me like Dorset Grey under the blue. The Dorset looks like a green! One year only, the public spoke, lol don't call green, grey, lol
The firewall appears to be a different color than the rest of the body,
Suggesting a re-paint.
If you can, post a photo of the Fisher Body tag on the firewall.
Then we can tell you what color the car was originally.
