Talking Newb from Central Ohio

Bought my car last saturday. It is a 1949 Olds 76 series Club Sedan. It was my grandfather's car, which he sold in the late 90's I told the gentleman that bought it that if and when he sold it I would buy it. So, 18 years later I run into him at a pizza joint and he remembers me from when I was a 16 year old punk. He says he has been thinking about selling the olds, which has been stored in a climate controlled shop since he bought it. We exchange pleasantries and phone numbers. A week later he calls and tells me he is moving and to come get the car out of his way, and to bring 1k cash. I know he knows what the car is worth, and is doing me a huge favor at that price. So I went and picked it up last Saturday and have slept next to it in the garage since.

Finished it and have been driving it now for a few years. Picked up an olds 307 and 200 4r trans that I'm going to install over the winter.

it is smoking pretty bad these days. It hit 100,000 miles this summer. That's why I decided to pursue a motor swap with an overdrive trans.

Nice car and story! Do yourself a favor and find a old's 350 or 403 to install with that 200 4r.
