Newbie-Do I have a real 68W30?
Sorry if this is repeat, but I can't find my post. Here's my dilema, for 35 yrs I thought I had a real 68-442 W3O. Until I read your web site, how to identify W30's. I bought my car from the original owner over 35 yrs ago. When I first opened the hood I seen red inner fender wells, plus the owner gave me a box full of parts which included under bumper hood scoopes & hoses, not familiar with W30, I didn't know what I had until some one told me it was a W30. Not researching it until now, because I want to restore this car. So what do I have? The vin does start with 344 "Z" instead of "M". Could Freemont, CA built a one off W30. Or is this a dealer installed W30 option. Is this car worth restoring? Your feedback will help me decide if I go with this resto.
Thanks, ABF

A non-W30 442 is still a very nice car that unless its in really bad shape should be restored. Can you post some pictures for us? Provide more details on what's there and the condition? You can keep the W30 parts on it just for fun, or sell/trade them to purchase other parts needed for the restoration.
