Newbie from California

Hi everyone!! Greatings from California! My name is Rowena and I'm currently working on a 58 Oldsmobile. The car runs great but needs some TLC. I'd like to do some upgrades to it but I'm still on the researching stage. I'm hoping to meet some people here to help me fix up Snow White and make her run like new... well almost new

Welcome to ClassicOldsmobile. What kind of "upgrades" do you have in mind ? 58's are few and far between.

Welcome.

Are modifications of your Oldsmobile allowed in CA?

Nice to hear from you Snowwhite, and welcome, I’m partial to the 58’s especially white ones. My Dad bought a new White Super 88. I would love to see pictures of it along with your 7 little friends

Welcome aboard, love to see pictures of your car. I'm a fan of the mid-fifties Oldsmobiles. You might want to drop on down to the vintage forum where a lot of fifties guys and girls hang out, good people and very informative stuff is found there.

I'm also a California resident, by chance are you located up north or in the south?. Lost in the fifties...Tedd

Right now all I have are airbags. Kinda regretting it a little bit coz it literally feels like Im riding a boat.
I was thinking of doing an upgrade on the transmission and maybe 4 disc brakes for better stopping power.

You don't have to worry about stopping power, you will just run right over most cars! Welcome and that is a really great car. I'm sure you will enjoy the journey going through it and driving. So Cool!

It depends on the mods but majority is allowed.

Yep, not really much restrictions on mods in California since the car is smog exempt due to it's age. You can get away with making the car louder but not too loud. Good luck with the car it looks great.
