Newbie on board!
Hi All!
I've been on the site just passing through as a visitor and I want to introduce myself as a new member. My name is Eric and I live in Illinois. I currently own a 1971 Cutlass that is completely restored and I am wondering if there is any known way to break down how many cars were made like mine. It is viking blue, black bench interior, 350 2bbl, 3 ON THE TREE. While I am aware it's not the most desirable of Oldsmobiles it is somewhat of a rarity. Any information would me most helpful and appreciated. This is my 5th Oldsmobile. In my past years I've had a 69, 70, 71, 72, and now another 71. All being hardtop Cutlass' Must be in my blood? Also, just to drop an FYI.... I've always wanted a Rallye 350. If anyone has a lead, or happens to own one and would sell or even possibly trade for my restored 71 + cash, I have open eyes and ears.

I'm trying to load 2 shots of it as we speak, and it's asking me to paste the URL. Problem is... I have it saved on the computer and there isn't really a URL. I'll look into it more on the "add images" thread. I'll have them there tomorrow hopefully! Thanks for the reply.

I have a 4 speed Muncie to throw in the car, but I really have my reservations about cutting a hole in the floor. Despite the fact that it would make the car more desirable, it takes the originality factor away. It would make the car more fun to drive as well, but once I put a hole in the floor- it's there and I can't put it back exactly as it is now. Thoughts anyone?

You don't say exactly which Cutlass you have. In '71, there were Cutlass, Cutlass S, and Cutlass Supreme, all three of which were available in the two-door hardtop body style like yours. Production of the Cutlass version was 32,278, of the Cutlass S version was 63,145, and of the Cutlass Supreme version was 60,599.
No breakdown by how many had which engine or which transmission or were which color and so forth is available.

Thanks for commenting! My mind was telling me no, but I was just hopeful that somewhere, somehow someone might have a lead on that. The example I own is a Cutlass base. I havn't been a member for even a full 24 hours yet, and I already feel at home! : )

That makes it a little more rare today as only about half as many were built as compared to each of the other two lines. Another way of looking at it is that only about 1 in 5 of all two-door hardtop Cutlasses made in 1971 were the base model.
