newbie

Hey all, been a car lover since I was a young lad and probably because of all of the time I spent at Edward's Oldsmobile, Enid, Oklahoma where my father worked as parts and service manager. I spent a lot of time sitting on the parts counter throwin' back peanut stuffed coca colas, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the shop. Ain't nothin' like it in my view.

Had an '04 corvette till a year ago. Have been thinking about what I would like to have in its place. Seems like when I go to the rod runs all I see are chevys. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I love 'em. Just think I want to be a little different.

So, in my imaginings I was harkened back to the days of my youth and the times I spent in the olds shop. I was there when the first 442 came out in 65. I was there when the first Toronado came out in 66.

An oldsmobile sounds like the only choice for me.

I have recently purchased two 455 motors from Toro's with the expectation of dropping one in a 68 442.

Never done anything like this before but always wanted to. Will be needing lots of advice. Hope ya'll don't get sick of me.
