New to site

Hi everyone
I'm new to this site and really enjoy what I have Ben reading.
I purchase my daughter a 1963 F85 about 14 years ago as her first car.
I paid 1500.00 for it. It ran and I had a garage do an engine rebuild
Brake and tranny rebuild. She drove it for about a year and wanted
Something cheaper to run. I hav been storing the car in garage
For the last 12 years. Saturday I am going to pick
It up and bring it to my home my intention is to restore it and
Possibly give it to my daughters son. He is 4, so I hav some time.
So with that said I would like to do as
Much of it as I can myself. I'm not to versed on auto repair but
I can build just abou anything thing else so I think I can do this
With minimal mistakes and do overs. I purchased the service manual
At a car show for 50.00 pretty good fine.
He first thing I want to ask is what is the best way to lift the tail
End up on these things. Air shocks? It's sits pretty low.
Thanks for your help I'll be asking a lot of questions.

Welcome to C.O.
If the car has been sitting for the last 12 years I think lifting the rear is the least of your issues. It likely needs attention to the safety issues just to get it driveable and back home. Chances are really good the rear springs have sagged and you need new shocks.

Found this source for springs but there are likely others closer to you. http://www.streetperformance.com/par...995-csrsb.html

Please post some pictures of the car when you get it. There are a few folks on this site who have older cars like the era yours belongs to. Does your car have the 215?

Thanks Allan, and yes I know that a lot needs to be done. I'm getting it the back home on a car trailer. and then I'll work on it from time to time. Doing a home renovation at this time as well but I'll be glad to have her back home with me. I'll post some pictures
