Hi I just bought a 1969 442 4 spd. It has black interior and buckets and gold door jams but the outside has been repainted and it’s just a regular hood no ram air or trunk spoiler, It’s also a hoiliday coupe since there’s no post behind the door.
So I was just wondering if it’s just a plain Jane 442 with a 4spd. And are they very valuable, I got a good deal on it

Welcome. FYI, neither the scooped hood nor the wing were factory available in the 1969 model year. Today everyone has installed repros, but when these cars were new they didn't exist. Congrats on the purchase.

Yeah, kind of my point. Don't assume that anything you see on line or at a show these days in any way represents what is "correct". Even cars at OCA meets have issues. If you are looking for real data on what was available new, look to model year advertising and sales documents, dealer sales brochures, and period magazine articles. Also keep in mind that there are far more "442s" on the road today than Olds ever made.

The 4-4-2 model of that era comes in all kinds of shapes today. Personally, I like them just the way you bought yours! If it is all original except for the paint job, you're in good shape! Post some pictures when you get the opportunity and include a picture of your trim tag (located under the hood, on top of the cowl on the driver side). Congrats on your purchase!

GM records are available for cars built or sold new in Canada. I believe that the fee is $75. It will confirm what model you have, plus the options that it came with. https://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/

400 engine
I found out it has a newer 350 in it so I would like to find a 69 400 for it or should o just look for a 455 when the time comes.
Will that hurt the value of the car much
also it does have ps and pb with discs up front for the person who asked

Well hello
I just picked up this 442 4 spd car in decent original shape but it has a 350 chev in it and I would like to have the original 400 for it, I do have a 455 I could put in it when the 350 causes grief but thought the 400 would make it more desirable
