I just got converted from chevy to olds. I picked up a 1971 cutlass s/ 442 clone and need to know what aftermarket floor shifter will fit in a stock floor console? 455 with 400 trans 3 spd auto. Thanks in advance guys ,pics of install would be good too if you have any.

 

Nothing aftermarket bolts in. Welcome to the non-Chevy world.

The Hurst dual gate was a factory option in this console. Originals and repros are available.

 

Welcome aboard. 71 Cutlass S/442 Clone? Sounds interesting. Just an FYI, all of the 71 442s were 455 equipped with options for different transmissions. Does the VIN on your car start out 33687 or 34487?

The 'default' transmission for 71 442s was a 3 speed SMT HD floor shift with Hurst shifter.

 

Its a cutlass s with 455 punched out 40 over 400 trans 442 hood and badging i traded my 64 impala ss for it just trying to get a few things together the shifter was broken when i brought it thanks guys for the input its good to have people who like cars as we do in a forum
