newbe from central nebraska
Hi just joined this site and am not a computer guru so if I make a mistake please bear with me. I just recently finished a street rod 32 ford and am starting a new project. While I appreciate good old original cars I also like rods and customs. Which brings me to my first question and maybe this isnt the right place but here goes. I have had a 52 olds 98 sitting in the trees since 1971. I have never done much with the car as it is a four door.As the engine is stuck and the trans is out I have decided to replace the drive train with an lt-1 chev and 700r4. Has any one done this swap and if so were there any unexpected problems I should be aware of other then the usual engine mounts exhaust etc, Thanks for any help

Welcome to the site! Please post pictures of your car when you have time. Most of us here would like to keep the Oldsmobile brand drivetrain in our Oldsmobiles. This is an issue many feel passionate about and it's led to some heated discussions in the past. To prevent those conflicts we've created the Non-Olds Powered section for those kinds of swaps. Starting out here in the newbie thread is where we ask people to introduce themselves. But please make another post in the appropriate section asking if anyone has made that swap in your vintage of Oldsmobile. Once again, welcome to the site and I hope you stick around to become a part of our community! John
