Hello all, I stumbled onto these forums while researching what i should do with my car. I have a '67 Olds 442 convertible. My dad found it in a garage 23 years ago without the original motor and bought it for a song. It has a crappy low compression '79 350 in it now with an older resto-mod sort of job on it. I wonder what you all think would be the best course of action to move forward with a rebuild. What kind of engine? Any input is appreciated.

Welcome to the site, theres alot of Olds gurus here that know all the information you will need. Theres also Wild About Cars you can join it for free and get alot of factory publications for free as well. Im also building a 67, still have a ways to go, slowly but surely getting there. Quite a few here have 67's. Post some pics of your car would love to see it. The E block 400 which would have come in your car originally is probably the best of the 400's, there are some guys here that have extra engines. You can build a stout 350, or put a 455 in it. Olds motors are more expensive to build than Chevys but they are great motors when built right. Just depends on how much power your looking for. Please post some pictures.
