New user, '70 Cutlass Supreme

So I am new here but not new to Oldsmobile (or cars for that fact). My last Oldsmobile was in highschool (a life time ago as I am 57 now) that was a 1970 Delta 88 Royale. Had a 67 Caddy and a 70 Chevelle as the most recent ones.
Currently starting a cleanup of a '70 Cutlass Supreme with a 350. Bought it recently. Floors are solid, wheel wells will need addressing as will the back of the front fenders, area right behind the c pillar and then paint (all easy to fix with some metal and a welder) interior is getting refreshed and all new window seals.
The engine is solid, (AC pulley needs a new bearing) carb is wrong (I will replace it with the right one). It is a Quadrajet but from a '73 455. The wheels are 14" and I have no idea what they are from. the rear are ever so slightly wider (rims) than the front.
Car is Sherwood Green with matching dark green interior. Split bench seat etc. All getting refreshed.

I am excited to build this out and just enjoy as my daily cruiser with the wife. Nothing fancy it will just be a nice car when done. I care less about it being 100% period correct, but little things I will fix to make it as close as possible.

Only picture I have right now as it is raining and it is under a cover.

Welcome! That brings back good memories - my first car was a 1970 Supreme 350-4bbl, buckets seats, Hurst Dual Gate. I drive that car for over 20 years until it rusted out too much to repair, at which time I acquired the '71 Supreme convertible.

Welcome, your car looks fairly solid. The wheels, SS1, were an option in '70.

Thank you and thank you for the identification on the wheels. I plan to pull one off on each side to get the numbers off them.
Underside the car is solid and aside from the wrong carb it is a very complete and original unmolested car. It spent most of its like with 2 owners. 16 with on and 35 with the other. Third owner had it for 5 years and now me.

Just some neglect that will get sorted real fast!

Thank you all!

Welcome to C.O.! Sounds like a solid project. The biggest thing is never let the project stall for long periods of time! I have had mine for 29 years this month! Still a work in progress!

Welcome, appears your rear SS1’s have been treated to 8” hoops on OEM centers.

Welcome to this site and I have to say, THIS is the car that got me started on moving Oldsmobiles to be my car of choice; my friends Dad bought a 1970 Cutlass Supreme, Sherwood Green just like yours. Based on your photo there was only one difference being the wheels, his had SSIII's. Unfortunately my friend's older sister totaled it.

Memories! THanx for posting this one.

Welcome to Classic Olds. For some reason I am partial to 70 green. Nice car and good luck with it. Enjoy.

Welcome!

72 Cutlass Supreme. The blue is what I currently own. The gold was my original Cutlass. This photo is from the summer of 1977.

Awesome! You all have very stunning cars.
I have not been on line much as I have been very busy between two cars.
1. Obviously my Cutlass. Gutting the interior fixing the very out of alignment drivers window.
While I am recovering the seats back to the green (waiting for the covers to come in) I wish someone made the original fabric and vinyl style (I have not found them yet and may have them custom made) for now the all vinyl ones will work. Anything would be better then the last owner just recover over the old covers, foam and cotton. Horrible!. Next up will be the rust work now that it is getting warmer.

2. My sons and I are restoring my eldest (he is 18) 1968 Mustang coupe. That is getting a full amateur resto done by us (paint will be else where) and will be about 3 years to finish. We are doing the complete front frame rails right now. Once that is done, onto the rotisserie.

Then it will be the youngest who want a C3 corvette, preferably in stick shift. We will find one that needs almost nothing. He is 16 and planning to become an mechanic. (possibly heavy). So all of this above will be good for him. Why a corvette? I have no idea we went to the Corvettes at Carlisle show and he fell in love with them.

Have you looked at SMS Auto Fabrics? They ain't cheap but they have the correct upholstery fabric for many antique and classic cars. They will also make the seat covers if you don't have a local upholsterer. There is also Legendary which is highly rated and PUI which may have the seat covers you want. I understand that wait time is high for any of them.
