New from St John's Newfoundland

New to the forum. My car has been in our family since 1978, sold here new in 1971. Its a documented 1971 442 W30 convertible, 4 speed (M22), bittersweet/sienna (Canadian GM documented). 8 track and AM radio questions - will not change tracks (selector not working) and AM radio has power but no sound!Attachment 109936

Welcome

Welcome. Looking forward to seeing pics and the GM of Canada docs.

Is your car included in Paul Martin's list of known 1971 W-30 convertibles?

Yes it is and I know Paul, was here last year and he has known this car since day one! It was sold at Hickman Motors in Gander. Was purchased by my brother in 1978, original paint, 42,000 miles, and other than rust on wheel lip of rear quarters and rust hole in trunk lid, everything is original. Restored about 12 years ago.

Welcome Fellow Newfie

Welcome to the site, it's great and can really help you. I too was born in St Johns, on the old Pepperal Air Force Base. Going back next year with my Brother and Mother.

Welcome from another Atlantic Canadian. Love to see pictures. A rare car with 71 only colours. Same interior colour as my 71 SX.

71 W30 Rag

Hi Jim, welcome to the site from another "townie" lols.

I too know this car well & had the pleasure of driving it once, when Blair & I
traded cars for a short drive. I then had the sister of his car - 71 W30 coupe, same colors but an auto. Currently have a 70 W30 - the one in my sig.

Sounds like u moved back to "Sin John's" ?
If so, hook up with Robert Tucker who has a 71 W30 he's had since new.
