John O'Quinn car collection to be liquidated

There are a few Oldsmobiles on the list. I would love to see the '49 76 station wagon.

Wow!!

I'm speechless.....and to think he purchased these cars in a relative short timeframe. But, as the saying goes, "You can't take it with you".

wow, I've heard a few folks say if his cars went to auction it would cause a few repercussions in the market (lower the values) He had so many that to sell all of them in this market at once would be tough. There just aren't enough buyers out there. Look at how many Shelby's he had, those all can't go for top dollar. I actually see this as a good thing for our hobby (not his death, just the liquidation of the cars) that there will be a bunch of cars available that were tied up otherwise. Of course ome of those cars like the Duesnebergs are just so rare who knows how the market will respond.

I just read the whole article, it says that the sale of his collection could lower the market by 25%

Holy crap batman , I didn't see anything collected before 2003 and some of these cars are worth a lot of money. As far as hurting individual car markets it should not be too bad cause he did not have a lot of same year and model cars. But man that was some collection , I wonder if jay Leno has picked up any?

Talk about buying high and selling low.
Makes me want to attend.
Wonder if they are going no reserve?
