Question new Owner 1978 Toronado

Hello everyone. I finally got the car I wanted. 1978 Toronado. but now looking for parts.

Primarily I am looking for the plastic spacers between the rear fenders and the bumper. I dont know wht their official name isand I have no Idea on how to find these. Please help

Welcome and congrats. The parts you are looking for are called "bumper fillers" and if you type Oldsmobile bumper fillers into Google, you'll get links to several vendors. Unfortunately, the new ones are all hard ABS plastic and not the soft plastic like the originals, but that's all you can get today.

I got the ones for my Wife's Riviera from this guy:

They are ABS plastic and fit good. Need a little trimming before painting them but I would think that any of them would. I did the back ones almost ten years ago and they still look fine. Just got the front ones about a month ago but havent had time to fit them yet.

I also have a '78 Toronado, an XS, and I needed the bumper fillers as well. One source is noted above. I got mine from this place:

As noted, they are stiff fiberglass, not the more flexible material the originals were made from. But they do work. I had my paint shop install them when I had the car painted. I think they look great. Check them out.








Here's a "before" photo so you can see what I started with, which was nothing.
