New Owner

Aloha from Hawaii. My name is Tony. I just bought a 1 of 207 car. Gold nugget ,black bench seat, 4spd, Ram Air hood. Carb, intake, balancer, fuel lines, engine numbers to vin match. Haven't done the search under the seats for the build sheet yet. i like that it still has the original wiper blades. The door buzzers work when open and the stock shifter reverse lockout still there at ignition. Going to go slow with the resto. just going to focus on the interior for now. cheers

It was advertised on Craigslist local here and I just missed out on it about a year and few months ago. The owner emailed me back that it was just sold I was so bummed. The gent who bought it put it back up for sale a few weeks ago also on Craigslist because of new business and house move so things worked out between us and I ended up getting a second chance to buy it.

Hawaii.... was it by chance this one that was really rusty by a really nice rare piece? IF so, good luck on the restore and keep us posted. It will be nice to see the F85 W31 saved.

It will stay dry with me but your pics look better than right now.

I remember that W-31. The W-31 was originally from Waipahu, where the original owner lived, then, the car was moved to Mililani where his son lived and sat outside for years. I believe they searched for the broadcast card, but never found it. That title is a newer title. I heard they had surrendered the plates, and were in storage. Great to see that the car will be restored.

Your car is a typical "W" car from Aloha Motors. SS1 Wheels, Rally Steering Wheel, Rally Pack, AM radio, 3.91 rear end, and more than likely an M-21 trans.

No problem, glad to help. I was dealing with a guy who bought it to flip it from original owners family I believe. I think he paid about 5,000 for it. I had it bought for 6,000, but was going to cost another 3,000 to get it shipped to me. And not being able to see it in person had me a little nervous, not being able to see the extent of the rust. I have a few more pics I'll upload when I get a chance. Good luck with it, I'm glad someone got it that will appreciate what it is and restore it.
