Hi everyone. I recently purchased a 63 Dynamic Holiday from a junk yard. The car is very solid but hadn't been run or moved in a long time. I fell in love with the rear end of it as I was walking by, looking for a project. 600 dollars later, a new battery, a set of points and a trip to my local hardware store to have some keys made and I got it running. I had an auxiliary fuel pump hooked up to a gas can and that worked out well and I knew the carb was functioning so I decided to put some gas in the tank. I had it run off the can to get the line in the car primed and after letting some crap come out I hooked it up and it ran beautifully. The next day I ran it for a while and it seemed to run out of fuel quickly, next night I put 4 gallons of premium in and when I came back the day after that I realized I was sacrificing fuel to the grass gods.

I've checked the regular stuff, Hemings, summit, fusick and tank specialty sites but I can't find a tank for it without just moving into fuel cells. Does anyone here know what makes and models share the same tank or know of sites I may have overlooked? I thought about looking down south but the shipping is probably too high for me. In the mean time I plan on patching the tank I have but down the road I'll need a replacement, if possible. Thanks for your help, I'm excited to be part of this site

Gas tanks for the full-size Oldsmobiles are not reproduced. A tank from a Chevy might work, but I don't know. Others on here might. Otherwise, you will have to find one from a donor car, and that might mean something from the southern U.S. in spite of the price. If you can patch the tank you have for the long-term, so much the better.

Good luck with the car. It really does sound like you made a great save there. Getting the engine running seemingly so easily after so many years is just great.
