i have just purchased a 1964 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Custom Coupe and need to change the water pump. any easy options on how to repair would be a good start
Welcome to the site, congrats on your new toy. Its a pretty easy repair in itself, just remove old WP and install new. I will suggest if the timing set has not been changed to go ahead and do that also, your just a few bolts away from it. Post some pics when your get a chance.
Welcome to Classic Oldsmobile. If you don't have an original Oldsmobile Shop Manual, it's the best money you could spend. As Eric stated the water pump is not difficult, but with the Oldsmobile shop manual ,it will take the guess workout of many jobs that you may run into
sometime.
The manuals are available on E-Bay from time to time ,make sure you get the original printed version, not a CD. Good luck with your new toy,Larry
Congrats on your car. I will second what Larry said about the factory shop manual. They should be around $40 on ebay. You want one of the original with some greasy thumb prints on it. The one I bought for my 54 has a stamp inside from some Chevy/Olds dealership in some small town in New York. It will be the best money you ever spent. I used mine last week to trace down some turn signal wires. We would love to see pictures of your car. 1964 was the year I graduated from high school.
