New Olds owner

Hey everyone. I'm new on here and a new Olds owner. I just picked up a 1951 Super 88 2dr sedan. Very solid, not one spec of rust anywhere! Numbers matching motor and trans. Very excited about getting this on the road. I'm rebuilding the 303 right now. Missing a couple of things and need some help locating them. 1st. Rocket88 emblem on trunk, 2nd. Hood ornament. 3rd the "OLDSMOBILE" letters on the trunk and hood. That is all I'm missing on entire car.

Check out catalog #530 on this page:

http://www.fusick.com/catalogdownload.htm

Fusick is a long-time Oldsmobile parts supplier with an excellent reputation. I'm not sure they have exactly what you need, but they do have a lot of trim parts, emblems, scripts, etc. for Oldsmobiles of the vintage of yours.

Welcome to CO, 51Super!!! You'll love it here. That will be a great car, post pictures when you figure out how to. You might also find the items you need on EvilBay (under emblems). I have a Rocket88 emblem on the tailgate of our '92 Custom Cruiser that I got for about $15 + shipping, and it looks great, I think! Once again, welcome to CO.

Do you know of a website that I could decode my body tag at? I'm not sure if my car is a Super88 or a Super Deluxe 88

It would probably be easier to just post what the body tag says here. Or just take a photo of it and post that. There are a number of people on here who have references with the codes, but I don't know of anyplace online that has them listed.

Is your 51 an 'A' model [looks like a 50'] or a 'B' model [late 51-52]? Some of the script is different.

It's a "B" model. I got told from the decode of the body tag that it's a 1951 Super 88 Deluxe
