New Olds 442 owner reporting for duty!

Hello, everyone! As of the 15th of January I can officially say I am an "Oldsmobile Man", having purchased a pretty sweet 1970 Olds 442, VIN 344870M233530, 455ci V8, 700R4 transmission, 12-Bolt Posi rear end w/ 3.23 gears, in Aspen Green with a black vinyl top. Whenever I buy a classic car I'm always anxious to join a forum and see what other owners are doing with their rides, and gaining knowledge that I can put to use in the garage. So thank you for being here, all you Oldsmobile guys and gals; I look forward to many fun, interesting, and enlightening conversations to come! Cheers, Dave

Thanks, Greg! Yeah, I was just looking around for a new ride, and the one I ended up buying happened to be finished in one of my favorite colors, green.

Welcome to this site! It's the best Olds site on the 'net and it has been most helpful to me when I've had questions regarding Oldsmobiles. Nice '70!

Something about that color green

Thanks guys. Growing up I remember my uncle buying a new 1973 Chevy Laguna that was about that shade of green, and I instantly fell in love with the color. Oh, and those cutting-edge swivel seats in the Laguna were pretty cool too!

Welcome aboard! Beautiful 442! The color is similar and reminds me of a '67 442 convertible I once had.

My neighbor when I was growing up had a green 73 Chevelle coupe. Man did I like his car, to this day its one of the 3 non Oldsmobile's I'm fascinated with, looks wise. The Corvette tail lights did it for me.

I think Olds started doing the swivel seats in 73 as well.
