New & Needy
I have a 63 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Holliday and have been trying to locate a vacumn controled heater control valve, but most places don't have the year listed. It is located on the right rear of a 394 cu with A/C, I thought there would be a suitable valve used on later models but need some help.
Thanks

Welcome.
If it's the right thing USA Parts Supply shows a "Hot Water Valve" in their catalog for all '61-'63 88 and 98.
A later one may work if the pipe thread is the same or could be adapted , if it's what I'm thinking it is.

I went thru this with a 64 over 20 years ago, and finally found one in an old parts store downtown that closed up a few months after I got the valve. The 64 was a one-year-only app, natcherly.
Parts book says 1959-63 except F85, group 9.795, p/n 575097, hot water valve assembly on engine.
If you cannot find that specific application, a little ingenuity can pay off. Use a pipe nipple where it screws into the intake, then find a readily available inline valve like Chevys and some Pontiacs used. Make sure it operates same as the original (vacuum open or vacuum close) and this should get you working until you can find the correct part.
You'll also find that short of a show where you might run into someone who knows about such things, most people will never be the wiser about the valve being in the heater hose instead of screwed into the intake.

Thanks everyone for the help, especially rocketraider. The OEM P/N was very helpful. I tried about 23, maybe more parts sites and two said they had one, however only one actually did.
Northwestern Auto Supply in Grand Rapids, MI, 616-241-5611 had a NOS for $60. Same Manufacture as OEM.
Thank Again
