Hello !
I am Sven from Kiel, its in the very North of Germany.
I am driving an Olds 98 4-Door HT and a 64 Chevelle Convertible 327...
BUT have found now the car of my Dreams, an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser 1965 .
Its a lot work on this car , but i will start the next month with this..
Will need some parts like front fender moldings and emblems .
Also the whole interior must be redone , seems not easy to find some !!!
Any help would make me very happy

Welcome !
The front fender moldings are repoped try fusick the hood molding is not tho, I believe you can get most of your emblems there as well. The 64/65 dont have any sheet metal made. if you need any you will need to find good used or repair what you have

Unfortunately, front fenders, hood, grille, and bumper are all different between 1964 and 1965 and do not interchange.

You have a 64 front clip fender hood grill bumper maybe even the radiator support. I wonder if it has the 64 radiator in it witch side is your lower water hose on?

On the fender extensions/eyebrows
Opgi repops them 40 buck each I think most that have gotten them have said there okay just not show quality but driver at best

That's a complete 64 nose - hood, fenders, bumper, and grille. This is also why your car doesn't have the side trim on the front fenders - 64 trim is completely different.

Google Images is your friend:

Joe, I know the difference between the 64/65 front fenders. what I wasn't sure of is the rad support, I do know that the radiators were different not only because the 64 waterpump out let is driver side instead of passanger side as well as the 64 radator was shorter because the 65 won't fit in the saddles I do know that the fender wells are the same for 64/65 there is holes difference in between v8/v6 but they will still work v6 models battery was on passanger side as well I believe

What motor does it have ? I see blue so it could be a 455 or a late model 350 ? Or was the 403 blue too ?

Radiator core support is different between the two years. Believe even different part #s regarding factory air conditioning and non-air cars.

I remember that wagon for sale in the SF bay area (california). A few years back it was owned by an older gentleman in Hayward. I believe he owned it for quite a while. It had CA white plates from the early nineties. His daughter sold it to a gentleman who sold it to another. I checked it out when it was for sale again in San Jose and the seller had installed some Edelbrock chrome parts around the motor along with the radiator. It's definately a '65 which probably got wrecked at some point. Probably the easiest fix would be to find the front chrome fender pieces off of a 65 and see how that would look on that front clip. Best Wishes and enjoy your new wagon!

The 64/65 front chrome trim is a one year only on both years they don't even resemble each other as the 64 is flat and the 65 is u shaped almost! Like I said opgi repops the 64 extension/eye brows

That car was around my area for some time. if you can get the trim for a '65, it will fit, just have to drill all the holes to mount the trim.
I'm pretty sure it is a SBO engine. It may be a 350 Olds, I don't remember what my buddy had said when he had the car.

That is the casting number for a 330 block. Note that the head castings do not have bumps for the A.I.R. ports, so they are 1964-65 heads. It appears that this engine is a 1964-65 engine, so there's a high probability that it is original.

I will venture to say it is the original '65 engine. The water pump hose is on the passenger side which started in '65. I think all they did was put a front clip on the car and let it go as that. You will need the '64 hood mldg and the eyebrows for the '64 also. The '65 eyebrows will fit just a little different shape. You will need to fill in the '64 fender holes and redrill for the '65 lower trim.
In looking at pic again, I don't think there are any holes in the fenders for the upper '64 trim. I can't really tell but you may have '65 fenders. As you look at the fender straight on, the peak on the '64's comes straight down to the front. Where as on the '65 fenders the peak comes down and fears off the the sides on the front. And the holes for the trim are completely different. Otherwise fenders interchange, I believe.
Good luck
Gene

Nope '64 bumper. '65's are different.
From another look at your pic's, you have a complete '64 front end.
No big deal. Just have to find '65 side chrome and drill a bunch of holes. From what I can tell the good news is you don't have to fill the holes for the '64 trim.
Once you paint it and put '65 side trim on, it will look great. Driving it will be the same, just enjoy.
I'm sure some body will have the trim you need, just keep looking and asking.
From your pic of the gap on the bumper. There is a rubber filler that goes in the bumper, plus you need the eyebrow mldg, and maybe a little adjustment of the bumper.

Gene
