Talking New member in Maple Ridge B.C.

Hello my name is David, this is my second oldsmobile. It is a 1969 Cutlass S that was built in Oshawa Ont.,it is all original except for one repaint and the 442 emblems.I purchased it 5 years ago from the original owners widow and it is in reasonably good shape with no rust.It is currently collector plated. I have 442 grills and bezels,W31 intake,Qjet carb(carb and intake are date code correct) rear lower boxed control arms with swaybar and SS1 wheels for it that will soon be installed. Here a a few pics to get started.

Welcome to the site David! Nice looking car! Not many of us have cars we can trace the history on, so its cool that you bought it from the original owners widow. John

Thank you, this is a new experience for me.My goal is to turn it into a 4spd.I see there are pedal/linkage kits, bell housing etc... available aftermarket.I would like to keep it all original GM but this is proving to be very difficult if not just very expensive but I do have a rebuilt M21that I rebuilt to use.Is there anyone in particular on this site I should talk to who can help me with any tips/tricks? I know column, speedo must be swapped, but unsure about whether or not I have to do any modifications to the engine besides pilot bearing.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I apologize in advance if I have asked this question in the wrong part of the forum.Thanks,David.

Beautiful car David. When you're ready to do your 4 speed I think John (2blu442) has a few bodies he could let you play with... That's just too nice a car to tear apart. You know you can also get GM Vintage Service documentation for it? There's actually a few guys near you. They just haven't posted their locations on the Classic Oldsmobile map https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...oldsmobile+map

Thank you guys, I know I will have fun here.It will be a while before I can start my 4 spd conversion as I am recovering from back surgery(discectomy).Hazard of my trade(Heavy Duty Mechanic) I guess? It's killing me I can't work on it now. Also I am saving my allowance and selling my Chevy parts to get enough money for everything I will need.I guess the hardest part to come by will be a 442 bench seat 4 spd shift handle, thats gotta be as rare as hens teeth. My car may not be a real 442 but when I am finished it will be 442 clone in good standing. Thanks for the info Allan I did receive the vintage docs when I bought the car as well as the New Vehicle Warranty and Owner Protection Plan booklet. The first thing I will be doing when I am able is the cam and intake/carb upgrade and flowmaster mufflers which are currently collecting dust in my garage. Thank you for your warm welcome and any advice/comments will be greatly appreciated.David.
