Hello everyone, I am from Staten Island NY and currently own a 1975 Delta 88 Royale 2 door with 350 V8, Looking for ideas on how to improve the power of my engine. I will post some pics of the car shortly.

Welcome Dave, I don't know much about improving the power of your 350, I love Oldsmobiles for their smoothness and comfort, but I welcome you to the site. Others will come along with performance advice.

Welcome. First, I would make sure the ignition circuit and carb are in a great state of tune, then I would advance the timing 4 degrees from stock, and add a better gear ratio to the rear end

I think a 1975 Delta 88 would have a single exhaust with an old style pellet type catalytic converter, which as I recall was horribly restrictive. Assuming the car still has one of those, swapping it out to a modern high-flow cat may help.

The car is a solid and reliable driver, just looking for more punch from the drive train. I want my tires to spin when I smash the pedal.

Yes the car has a restrictive factory exhaust with a catalytic converter. I am considering upgrading to a dual exhaust from an earlier model delta 88 if available from the after market.

My issue is that the engine should have more low end punch for being 180 HP. Thanks.

Welcome to the site Dave, the above recommendations will push your HP up about 30 with true dual exhaust. I recommend Flowmaster high flow cats, they are small, light, inexpensive, and sturdy. $50 each at Summit racing. Had them on my stock 350 powered Cutlass, cleaner air and didn't hinder my performance whatsoever, track tested several times before and after.

With regards to your exact model, 1975 Delta 88 Royale 2 door with 350 V8 is factory rated 170 HP not 180. You can thank the introduction of the pellet cat in 1975 for that... Factory rear gear is 2.73 and weighs 4500 LBS base curb. Normally 200 HP and some decent gears make a nice healthy combo for a cruiser but the Deltas weight makes it difficult... Still I would absolutely do all the above, it will help no matter what if your engine is healthy. Advancing the timing will require better gas in my experience. A 75 Delta is a great car and deserves super anyway. Best of luck and please keep us posted.
