New from Lombard IL.

Hi all , My name is Steve I'm in the middle of building my 56 Olds 88 2 door sedan. I've had the car now for about 6 years The original 324 blew up on me a year after I bought the car . I had no money to rebuild it so I sold the motor and trans, and put a sbc th 400 I had laying in my garage. It's temporary for right now. I have a 71 455 out of a 98 that I'm going to have rebuilt for the 56. It needs an Olds back in it !!. Last year I decided to repaint my Olds. It had a real bad paint job on it when I got it then the sun beating on it turned the paint into sand paper. So I blocked the whole car down and did what body work primed it, blocked it again, primed it, wet sanded it . Then paint it. It was a hell of a learning experience. My first time doing body work and paint. It came out good. I went with Hot Rod Flatz mint green. I have a build thread on the Hamb http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...ght=56+olds+88
I was hoping somebody on here can help me. When I bought my car It had no side trim on it . I found trim off a 2 door hard top but the rear quarter trim is diffrent. The 2 door sedan has been a real pain to find. If somebody out there knows of any trim for this car it would be a great help.

Welcome to CO

Can't help you with the trim pieces, but if you decide to install a 455 in your 56 I can help you with that. I installed a 455 an turbo 400 in my 57 which is very similar
