New from Iowa

Hello all.
I recently acquired a 1976 Cutlass S coupe. It has the 350/TH350 with console and swivel bucket seats. It’s far from perfect, but it’ll be a fun project. The goal is for it to eventually share daily driver duty with my ‘04 Silverado.

I’m currently kicking around the idea of giving it some stock car design elements, such as a roll bar and a trunk wing/spoiler, plus lowering it a few inches.

I look forward to being a contributing member of the community.

Welcome and good luck. There's plenty of material out there to draw on as examples. Foyt, Petty, Yarborough, Baker, and many other raced this body style.

Thanks! This is what I’m thinking about modeling it after.

Yup. Buddy Baker's Grey Ghost. Not a bad place to start.

Welcome to the site! Looks like you have a nice starting point. I look forward to seeing your progress. I grew up on that Nascar era, and I love how those cars look.

Welcome to the site! I have a 76 Cutlass S too. I love the front end, makes the entire car for me. Good luck on your project!

I was kind of thinking about doing a version of Buddy Baker's Grey Ghost. Silver with a black two-tone.

Thanks for all the nice welcomes. This is a great group!

Once spring comes, I plan on doing a repaint and getting it looking nicer. Hopefully I can get all the bugs worked out of it this winter so I can hit some car shows next summer.

Welcome! What an Olds!

Do you want to paint it yourself or are you going to have it painted?

I sure will. It's already a fun car. I'm looking forward to making it even better.
