New here with a Vista Cruiser

Hi,
I'm here because I just took on another project.... A 1965 Olds Vista Cruiser, and I'm sure I will have lots of questions..
I have built race cars for many years, and also built custom cars and motorcycles.. I'm a metal fabricator by trade, and an OK mechanic.. I'm 65 years old so I'm slowing down on the projects, but still going..
I use the Ironhead97 on several different forums so you may have seen the handle before..
My other classic vehicles are, a replica of the motorcycle from the 1968 movie "Then Came Bronson" ..
and a 1957 Lincoln Capri, mostly Stock....
and a replica of the 1966 Batmobile. Which is a fiberglass body on a 1978 Lincoln Town car Chassis. Which I finished in October of 2016..

Welcome aboard! Looks like you have a relatively solid car to work with. Good thing you have skills - many of us on this forum would love to have fabrication skills and a shop to work in.

Welcome to the group... One of our family vehicles back in the 60's was a 65 Vista Cruiser... Took many family trips in that vehicle with my parents and six other siblings...

Thanks for the welcome guys.. Always liked these wagons.. I had a Buick Sport Wagon when I was about 19 years old.. so this takes me back to those days..
I have ordered some parts, and will start working on it when the weather starts to cool down, hopefully will have it done (at least as done as it will be) by the spring.. It will be a fun car to take a bunch of friends to a car show, or wherever...

Welcome. You will find a lot of people on this site willing to share information to help on whatever you come up with.

There are also wagon lovers here who have done what you are starting out to accomplish.

Wow, I looked at it. Great work, very interesting! I'll bet you get a lot of attention driving a bat mobile!

thanks for the welcomes...
The Vista Cruiser is fun to drive.. Mechanically it's in pretty good shape. It needs a lot of help in the body department.. The skylights are leaking and I'm sure there will need to be new metal welded in.. Maybe all the way to the rain gutter on the driver side.. The interior is toast, and that's the expensive part..!!

Greg, the Batmobile is definitely not for when you don't want to attract attention...!!!
