New here with my '67 98
I just joined the group and as per instruction here is my introduction:
I just picked up a '67 olds 98 conv. with a 425. Body is pretty good, interior is fantastic (for the age), the engine and tranny just require a bit of tuning and troubleshooting. Electrically it needs some attention. So if anyone has some good suggestions for wiring harnesses and motors for windows and power top, along with good places to go for everything else as well I'd appreciate it greatly.
I don't have a manual for it yet either so suggestions as to the best ones would be good.
I'll throw some pictures up when I get a chance.

Hi, E.
That's a nice car. We'd love to see some pictures.
Most electrical problems are going to be caused by corrosion, so removing and cleaning every plug contact, cleaning every fusebox contact, and removing and cleaning ground connections is likely to solve most problems.
The original Packard 56 connectors are readily available (as is the original-style crimper), in case you need to replace any terminals, but I do not have the links right here.
I like using a cordless Dremel tool with a tiny wire brush to clean them.
DeOxIt is also recommended by many.
Pretty much all switches can be disassembled and cleaned, so long as you are very careful.
It is not likely that you would need to replace any major components, such as motors, though it is possible.
As for the manual, you need to get original copies of the Chassis Service Manual and the Fisher Body Manual, and may also want to get an Assembly Manual (generally not available as an original, and reprints vary widely in quality). They are available all day long on eBay.
If you want a digital copy in addition to the original, your best bet is to join the Automotive History Preservation Society for about $25, and you will be able to download everything you want.
Welcome to ClassicOlds.

Welcome, glad to see another big car vert. Fusick has some stuff. Rubber is available from many sources. Rock auto has a lot of items. Best tune up stuff is Echlin/Napa, or Standard Blue Streak. Don't use cheap tune up stuff. No harnesses, but MD, as usual, gave you good info. Beltline weatherstrip is a little tough, I had mine made.
Ask questions, good help here finding what you need.
I am fairly happy with my manuals on disc from Dave Graham auto literature, but print is best.

Welcome to the site... You should definitely invest in an original Chassis Service Manual as well as the Fisher Body Manual... Between this site and a good set of manuals you won't have to look too much further for any information you may need for your vehicle...

Thanks all
I appreciate the advice and willingness to help out as this project goes forward. Much of the electrical issues have to do with corrosion, but just as much was helped by mice, so it's been fun tracking down bare spots and the like. I will be replacing a lot of wiring.
